Invisalign on the Go: What You Need to Take With You

Invisalign on the Go: What You Need to Take With You

There are some essential items that you'll need to take along with you during your Invisalign orthodontic treatment. Here's a short list of what to take when you're on the go.

A pouch

To begin with you'll need a pouch to keep all of your Invisalign maintenance items in.

It needs to be durable so that you can toss it in your backpack, bag, desk or locker. Be sure to choose a pouch with a sturdy zipper as well as a lining that's water resistant (for damp toothbrushes).

Your aligner case

Whenever they aren't in your mouth, your aligners need to be cleaned and stored in their case. Keep the case with you at all times so you have a safe, clean place to store your aligners while you're brushing your teeth, eating or drinking.

Lip balm

Dry lips can be a problem during any orthodontic treatment. To help keep your lips looking and feeling their best keep your favourite lip balm in your kit. That way it will be handy when you need it.

Travel toothbrush, dental floss and toothpaste

Whenever you remove your aligners to eat, you need to brush and floss your teeth before putting the aligners back in. After all, you don’t want food particles and debris stuck between your aligners and your teeth for the rest of the day! Before returning your aligners to your mouth always remember to throughly brush and floss your teeth.

“Outie” Aligner removal tool

Every so often your aligners will be especially tight. This is most likely to happen when you first switch to a new set. The handy Invisalign removal tool will help you detach your aligners from your teeth whenever this occurs.

Breath spray or mints.

If you're concerned about bad breath, mints or breath spray will help you feel more confident since you won't be able to chew gum with your Invisalign aligners in.
